About the Intensive
Surah Al-Qasas — “The Stories” — is one of the richest narrative chapters of the Quran, tracing the journey of Musa (AS) from infancy in a basket on the Nile to prophethood, exile, and eventual return to confront Pharaoh. It is a surah of patience through hardship, divine planning behind apparent setbacks, and the quiet workings of Allah’s promise across a lifetime.
Most of us have heard these stories before — but rarely with the depth needed to actually live by them. Over four consecutive evenings, this intensive slows down and sits with the surah properly: unpacking the historical context behind each scene, the precision of the Arabic wording, and the classical scholarship that shapes how we understand it — before turning every lesson back toward our own lives.
This is built for anyone who feels they’ve read the Quran but not really understood it. No prior background in Arabic or tafsir is required — just the intention to walk away with a surah you’ll never read the same way again.
Why this format works:
- Four consecutive nights, one surah — enough time to go deep without losing momentum
- Live, in-person environment — real-time Q&A and discussion, not a passive recording
- Story-driven structure — Al-Qasas’s narrative style makes it one of the most accessible entry points into serious tafsir study
- Directly applicable lessons — each session closes by connecting the story back to modern struggles: patience, injustice, trust in Allah’s timing, and standing firm in one’s principles
What You’ll Explore
- The story of Musa (AS) — from a mother’s desperate faith at the edict of Pharaoh, to growing up in the courts of Egypt, to fleeing into exile as a fugitive
- The turning point at Madyan — how Musa (AS) rebuilds his life from nothing, and what it teaches about starting over with sincerity
- The call to prophethood — the moment at the burning bush, and the weight of being sent back to confront the very tyrant who once sought his life
- The story of Qarun — a cautionary tale on wealth, arrogance, and the illusion of self-made success
- Recurring divine patterns — how Allah’s plan unfolds through hardship, delay, and apparent defeat, and what that means for our own trials today
- Classical tafsir, made practical — insights drawn from major commentaries, reframed as direct guidance for daily life, family, and community
